CUSHA Kick-off Meeting

Erasmus+ plaque for “Cultureshake”

The Erasmus+ project “Cultureshake” had its kick-off meeting from the 12. to 14. of December 2016 at the University of Education in Karlsruhe. Within this time frame the project partners were able to put up the Erasmus+ plaque on the university’s premises, the plaque was distributed by the international Erasmus+ agency PAD (Pädagogischer Austauschdienst – pedagogic exchange).

The consortium of the intercultural and multilingual project “Cultureshake” consists of four countries (Germany, Sweden, Slovenia and the United Kingdom) and three different types of institutions (universities, cultural foundations and schools):

  • The University of Education Karlsruhe (project coordination)
  • The Friedrich-Wöhler Gymnasium (Singen, Germany)
  • The Shakespeare Birthplace Trust (Stratford, UK)
  • The English School of Gothenburg (Gothenburg, Sweden)
  • The University of Primorska (Koper, Slovenia)

At the end of 2016, the project partners could look back at an exerting and successful initiation. The focus of the first collective meeting, apart from getting to know each other, was project management and coordinating the teaching and learning activities in 2017. Students of the PH Karlsruhe created a Stud.IP group for fellow students interested – to inform and encourage participation.

A long-lasting correspondence in Erasmus mobility already existed between the University of Education Karlsruhe, the University of Primorska and the English School of Gothenburg in Sweden, which could now be extended to the field of research with the aid of “Cultureshake”.

Through cooperation with the Friedrich-Wöhler Gymnasium networks were set up to the government presidium in Freiburg.

Thanks to this Erasmus+ project, the Shakespeare Birthplace Trust could be attained as a new cooperative partner for the University of Education Karlsruhe, branching into the fields of international research and mobility.
